Janet Candido

Through the medium of clay, I give shape and texture to the forms and
structures around me. I am inspired by the energy and rhythm of the city,
and the endless interplay of nature and humans. I seek to give life to these
impressions by injecting my sculptures with emotion.

I enjoy the feel of the clay, and my ability to create with my hands as the
primary tool. Clay is resilient and malleable, making it an ideally expressive
medium. I like that it can absorb colours and textures to reflect mood and
nuance. I like its gentleness.

The White Space series is an exploration of what I see and feel around me.

landscape its dimension. Conversational fragments traces our thoughts
and ideas across time in the city.

I plan to pursue my fascination with urban life and fragments further...
